Something about dogs...

I came home from school one day when I met a kid running towards and awkwardly un-cuddly dog. The dog must have felt instinctively anxious since he did not even bother wagging his tail to the welcoming being. The kid, almost a feet taller than the dog, opened her arms wide, hug the dog and rested her head on the dog’s nose. The dog seemed hesitant for a while. Not moving a muscle. Afterwards, the kid ran. The dog stayed. Talk about being “man’s best friend”.

Take it from me; I’m not an anti-pet person. In fact we have 2 family members of different genus at home. But I do have something against dogs. I was about 6 or 7 when I was unknowingly chased by a dog. Must have been my scent or any food that I carried but I threateningly ran towards home. I had a phobia of dogs ever since…

The real score here is. Man’s real best friend is actually himself. Yes, our pets or the like might at any point serve as family, but the difference here is…

… animals call it ‘instincts’, human beings call it… LIFE
